Robert is a keen amateur musician of both the oboe and recorder, who has played with a number of orchestras in the West Midlands over the last 25 years. He's currently a Trustee of Worcestershire Early Music as well as actively getting involved in promoting and assisting with our concerts.

Pre-Concert Talk

We are delighted to announce that Oliver Webber will be giving a FREE, pre-concert talk at 14.30 in advance of the concert on 5 October 2025 (at 15.30). This will also be held at the Old Bishop’s Palace.

The phrase “A Thousand Flexible Ways” comes from a 17th-century Italian “dictionary” describing a “fine voice… ornamenting with accented and articulated diminutions.” Find out more at the pre-concert talk, before hearing the Monteverdi String Band’s performance!

Great News!

It has finally been agreed that the Old Bishop’s Palace (WR1 2JD) will be our home for our forthcoming 2025/6 season.

Parking is available strictly for Blue Badge holders only, but the nearby Copenhagen Street car park (WR1 2EY) is just a few minutes’ walk away. The quickest and easiest way to access the venue from Copenhagen Street is via Deansway.
