Ensemble Moliere

Our next concert will be on Saturday September 18th 2021 to be given by Ensemble Moliere in St Martin’s Church, London Road, Worcester, WR5 2ED

Ensemble Moliere features Alice Earll (violin), Flavia Hirte (flute),Catriona McDermid (bassoon), Kate Conway (viola da gamba/cello) and Satoko Doi Luck (harpsichord). They will be playing a programme of music from 18th Century France by Lully, Rameau and Couperin entitled Dance Sweets. They have performed throughout the UK and Europe to much acclaim:
Albert Edelman of Concertgebouw Brugge writes of their performance…”having heard the stylish Ensemble Moliere a couple of times…one thing that struck me in particular is their consistent quality. Their devotion to the playful and by all means extremely demanding French repertoire I found quite rare indeed”

You can find more about them on their website; (www.ensemblemoliere.com) meanwhile put the date in your diary so you don’t miss this opportunity to hear a wonderful programme of French Baroque music.

There will be two performances on  Saturday18th September; firstly at 3.30pm a short concert for families with young children. There will be no charge for this event and all aged children will be welcome; places are limited so please book a ticket (available from barbara.wem@gmail.com)

Exclusive Online Concert

If you were unable to attend our concert given by Elizabeth Kenny and Charles Daniels, there is an opportunity to see the full concert between 21st June (Making Music day) and 21st July.

We were able to employ the services of a professional videographer who filmed the concert, and has made two videos which can be viewed on YouTube for a limited time.

Part 1 (available from midnight, Monday 21st June)
Works by John Dowland, Anthony Holborne, Samuel Akeroyde, John Blow and Henry Purcell.

Part 2 (available 12 noon, Monday 21st June)
Works by Giulio Caccini, Claudio Monteverdi, Alessandro Piccinini, Sigismondo d’India and Giacomo Carissimi.

Although the videos are free, we would very much appreciate your help in trying to offset the losses incurred during the past year; it goes without saying we had spent some considerable amount on publicity for these concerts which was was lost when they were cancelled, and the reduced capacity which social distancing demands now, necessarily means a reduced revenue. Please help us to continue our work in bringing Early Music to Worcestershire by making a donation.

Please also tell your friends about our online concerts to help spread the word and help us to continue to bring professional live performances to Worcester in the future.
