Before Worcestershire Early Music’s next concert takes place on 11 January 2026 with Ensemble La Notte (https://ensemblelanotte.co.uk/), there are a few concerts which you might be interested in, as follows:

Thursday, 18 December at 19:00 – The English Wind Consort (https://www.englishwindconsort.co.uk/events) present ‘Angelus ad Pastores’ in the Holy Trinity Church, Minchinhampton, near Stroud and again on Friday, 19 December at 19:00 in St Francis Xavier Church, Hereford.

On 23 December at 19:30 at Number 8 Arts Centre, 8 High St, Pershore WR10 1BG, GreenMatthews present their new festive show “Carols, songs and tunes from Yuletide Past”. Featuring Christmas carols, winter folk songs, toe-tapping tunes and a plethora of weird and wonderful instruments, the show is brought to life with GreenMatthews’ trademark wit and humour.

After a wonderful afternoon listening to Chelys and their concert featuring the music of Orlando Gibbons on 2 November 2025, we are now looking forward to welcoming back Kate Allsop (recorders), Mark Wilson (bassoon) and William Peart (keyboards) – collectively known as ‘Ensemble La Notte’ – to The Old Palace on 11 January 2026.

The Monteverdi String Band, comprising of Oliver Webber (violin), Hannah Ely (soprano) and Toby Carr (lute / theorbo) opened our 2025/6 season in fine style to a very appreciative audience performing their concert, “A Thousand Flexible Ways”.

We now look forward to welcoming back the wonderful Chelys, with their concert “The Best Hand in England” celebrating the life and works of Orlando Gibbons, 400 years after his death.
