ZELENKA: Missa Dei Patris

Nave seats are numbered and reserved, all other areas are unreserved.
Zelenka’s exuberant Missa Dei Patris is interspersed with a selection of his Lamentationes. Robert Hollingworth directs soloists from his group I Fagiolini, and specially invited consort singers in a compelling opening evening.

Power and influence flowed from 17th-century Vienna under the Habsburgs across the Holy Roman Empire. With sophisticated, music-loving rulers, there was a flowering of creativity. Colourful sounds from the works of Bertali, Biber, Sances, Fux, and Froberger. www.inecho.co.uk

A guided walk across the Brecon Beacons led by a former National Park Warden. Take in the Beacons’ flora, fauna and ancient sites, ending at Penpont House and its beautiful grounds on the River Usk. Lunch available at Penpont but not included in ticket price.

Our celebratory finale concert features music from the glittering societies of Bohemia and Vienna encompassing the Baroque and Classical styles. Music by Benda, Zelenka, Biber and Mozart’s PRAGUE Symphony.
