“This year’s Keble Early Music Festival is a sequence of concerts, services and masterclasses, culminating in a performance of Bach’s monumental B Minor Mass. Highlights include a concert by our Patron, Mahan Esfahani, performances by the Gramophone-shortlisted ensemble, Magnificat, The Gesualdo Six and a candlelit Abendmusik concert featuring Edward Higginbottom with countertenor Simon Ponsford. We are delighted that Oxford’s Instruments of Time & Truth will be a prominent part of this year’s festival and we welcome Jeremy Summerly to run the lecture/demonstration on Bach’s Art of Fugue which will be performed by Matthew Martin on Friday evening. Student only contributions come from James Orrell and the Bate Players as well as the Bate Viol Consort.”
All events will take place in Keble’s stunning Butterfield Chapel.
