DESCRIPTION:Picture the scene: you’ve just arrived at your relatives for Christmas in the 1620s\, and they like a good party. Vocal ensemble Siglo de Oro combine with instrumentalists from the Spinacino Consort in a programme that brings to life the traditional twelve days of Christmas through a lively combination of 17th century ballads\, broadsides\, dances and carols. \n\n\n\nTraditional melodies from Britain and Ireland feature alongside music by leading composers of the day such as William Byrd.
