Virtual Pride and Prejudice Ball Saturday May 15th 2021

Date(s) - 15th May 2021
20:00 - 21:30

We will have to wait till 2022 to dance again in the Guildhall…but until then we can look forward to a virtual experience with Brian Stanton who has been honing his online skills during the pandemic!

All dances have been adapted so they can be danced by one or two people.

Not long to wait now until our virtual Pride and Prejudice Ball on Saturday 15th May from 20.00 to 21.30pm. If you haven’t booked your place there is still time, just email and you will receive instructions on how to join.

Meanwhile Brian, our caller will choose the dances for the Ball from the following list.

        • Braes of Dornoch
        • The Comical Fellow
        • The Cuckoo’s Nest
        • The Duke of Kent’s Waltz
        • Holborn March
        • Kelsterne Garden
        • The Leamington Dance
        • Mount Hills
        • Mr Beveridge’s Maggot
        • My Lord Byron’s Maggot
        • Sun Assembly
        • Young Phyllis of Wakefield

All the dances are from the vast repertoire of dances first published in 1651 by John Playford and subsequently by many others (including Walsh who published some of Handel’s works) as music publication flourished from the late 17th century.

We hope you’ll come suitably attired, and join in the dances which Brian has skilfully adapted for you, or maybe you’d prefer to watch the proceedings, which is also perfectly ok.

If you are new to Zoom……..
