The Croome Four Seasons Project had its final showcase on Friday 24 June. 119 children from four schools, (year 4-5), took part in the project and College Hall was packed for the event by parents from all four schools.

On entry to the hall there was an exhibition of artwork associated with the project. Led by Claire Horacek, and following a visit to Croome Park to sketch the landscape, the children created individual artwork which was then merged into a collage depicting one of the four seasons.

During follow up music workshops in schools, the children contributed words towards a new song about Capability Brown. The result was one song with a shared chorus and four verses composed by individual school groups using graphic scores.

During the workshops, led by Kate Fawcett, Claire Horacek, and Micaela Schmitz, the children also created a 2-3 minute piece of instrumental music inspired by one of the seasons in Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. In all, 12 pieces were devised and performed at the showcase.
