Art work following on from outings to Croome Park was directed in school workshops and collated by Clare Horacek, while Kate Fawcett and Micaela Schmitz led workshops in creating seasonal soundscapes which were performed before an audience of parents form all four schools.

The childrens’ showcase was then followed by a superb performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons given by the Musical and Amicable Society.

For each season, (a concerto in itself), the solo part was performed by different musicians from within the group; the quality and definition of the broad palette of sounds given by the Musical and Amicables in this chamber version of the work, with one to a part, was extraordinary.

This was followed by Vivaldi’s Concerto Grosso op 3 no 8, and then a work by little known composer Wassenaur; Concerto Armonico in G.

The concert concluded with Bach’s Concerto for two violins in D minor where once again the chamber music element of one to a part added sensitivity to the wonderful melodic lines and harmony which are Bach’s trademark.
