Worcester Waits In 2007

Worcester Waits 01Alan Smith from Worcestershire Arts Education, Cathy Dew, Micaela Schmitz and Andrew Watts founded the Worcester Waits, an early music ensemble for students aged 10 to 16. The group practised at Blessed Edward Oldcorne School and, in addition to playing their main instruments, the members all sang, danced and learned to play a range of new instruments. The group ran for two years presenting a Christmas programme in 2007 and participating in the Voices and Visions (2008) event and the Festival of Music of Youth (2009).  They were also involved in education projects with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in 2008 to 2010 playing Handel, Monteverdi and a new piece by Rachel Stott.
